China Provides Nearly 20 Ambulances to Ministry Of Health

PHNOM PENH: The Chinese government has provided 16 ambulances in addition to other medical equipment to the Ministry of Health for distribution to three national hospitals and four provincial health departments.

According to a National Television of Cambodia broadcast, the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia and the Ministry of Health held a ceremony to handover 16 ambulances and medical equipment on the afternoon of 27 March 2023. The medical equipment is a grant from the Chinese people and their government.

Minister of Health Mam Bunheng, said that this gift from China will further strengthen the capacity of health facilities to meet the needs of patients and will provide them with more quality, efficiency and safety.

"These ambulances and medical equipment will contribute to the provision of health care to the people of Cambodia in order to achieve universal health coverage in which no one is left behind," he said.

Chinese Ambassador Wang Wentian noted that this year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries; that China and Cambodia are committed to deepening cooperation by building towards a common destiny which will benefit the people of both countries.
